The last four months here in northern Uganda have been unusually cool, with daily rain, so that farmers who usually complain about the heat are now complaining about the humidity. We, however, are enjoying this weather very much, as it gives us cooler nights and thus a good night’s sleep.

In August and September, we held two baptisms with a total of almost 40 new converts. It is always so touching to see the excited anticipation with which the candidates enter the water and the joy and radiance on their faces as they emerge – truly a new creation in Jesus Christ. After the distribution of the baptism certificates, there is always a small celebration, accompanied, of course, by songs of praise and worship.

Our seventh-graders are currently preparing for their primary school graduation. This is a major event in Uganda, with many preliminary exams. Please pray for our students that they will achieve the best results in the district, as they have in previous years.

One of our congregations urgently needs a new building.

Perhaps you can encourage your local church to contribute so that our Ugandan brothers and sisters can hold their services in the dry.

Work on the girls’ dormitory will be completed in October, and then the girls can finally move in.
